Does anyone else get kind of a Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind feeling from this? Maybe just because it's a desolate desert with a city in the middle of it. Strange, I don't actually get an "abandoned" feel from this, apart from the bones. I actually think it would be cool if Pegasi occasionally did this by setting a cloud-city down in the middle of a desert to allow life to thrive there. They already control the weather, why not terraform parts deserts? Anyway, great picture, congrats on the EQD feature, I'm definitely adding this to my pile of wallpapers.
Didn't really put much thought into that to be honest. I'd wager a guess that in this fiction-ey thing either it would be behind the viewer, or the entire mountain would have been decimated by some explosion.
Honestly, I didn't see much reason to go into details. This picture is already miserable enough ^^
I didn't have much time when i first wieved this. But now i zoomed and observed details. I hereby declare it awesome. Well I don't really like those bones, but otherwise it's so nice... like painted by watercolors. Those mountains seem painted with little of color and lots of water, as opposed to the clouds in the sky. Those have feel of tempera colors and dry brush. And the sand is composed of many broad strokes, full darker color as a base and then lighter dry brush on top.
...I ran out of english words to use. I'll just admire it silently. Also it's 0:30 AM here, so I may or may not make sense.
I see an epic battle involving the two princesses, the element of harmony and a terrible new vilain. It is ideed beautiful, I am glad that cloudales fall here. I wonder if there are still some descendants of the survivor in this place.
To answer your question, I didnt put much thought into how it fell or why. But its supposed to have been deserted a while ago in my mind, possibly during its fall. I'm really not sure. I leave it up to the viewer to create a story for themselves!
