Skoll, The Sun-Ender by PrincessSaros Skoll, The Sun-Ender by PrincessSaros
"...among the many weapons I have seen in my adventures in the distant lands, all pale in comparison to the mysterious and legendary weapon wielded by Celestia, Princess of the Sun, and confounded was I that the most beautiful and destructive of all the armaments ever witnessed was closer to me than I had ever imagined.

Forged using the five elements of Harmony, Celestia created a hammer from the power of the defeated "Old God", Skoll, the Sun-Ender. A terrifying wolf the size of a house, as black as the night sky and a maw of ravenous hunger. Stalker of the sun.

As with its previous body, The hammer was forged of pitch black, becoming a solid, unknown metal. Runes engraved on every side, and shines with an inner core of purified light. The weapon acts with a mind of its own. It refuses to be touched by anyone but its owner, firing off strong kinetic waves at any who approach it with the intent to touch it, forcing them back. However, it is elusive as it is magnifiscent, returning to the sun by hurtling at lightning speed back into the sky when dismissed. The ironic resting place of the hungry wolf, until it is called, plummeting down from the heavens and smashing the ground in front of Celestia as it lands.

Combined with Luna wielding with the elements of Harmony, and the combat prowess of Princess Celestia, surely we stand a chance against Discord and his ilk. Surely we can unite the masses under one banner? I certainly hope to do what I can, for tomorrow we fight..."

Excerpt from Starswirl the Bearded's journal.

Piece I've had in my mind for a while now. Just thought I'd add some flavor text into it too.

Both Skoll and the hammer have been adapted into the story from nordic legends.

Skoll being the chaser of the sun, a giant cloud-like wolf that would chase the sun (being drawn by a charriot)
Hati, its brother, chases the moon.

The hammer was inspired by all awesome two handed war-hammers and also Mjollnir, hammer of Thor, the Thundergod.

Except that Thor's is a whimpy little one handed mace.

Celestia wields Two handed Warhammers, FUCK YEAH.

tl;dr = Pony Nord Hammer Wolf

Hey would you mind if I used Skoll and Hati in the fanfic I'm writing. It seems like a cool idea to have Celestia and Luna be combatants in a couple of battles I'm going to have in it.

You're most welcome to use them, and as I've said before: My only condition is that you link the work to me after you've completed it. I'd be very interested to read it!

Thanks I'm still working on the second chapter so I will try to get them out ASAP. And of course I will give you credit. I won't ever steal credit  from others.

Do you mind me using this for project of mine?

So long as you tell me if you edit anything, and give me a link to the project, or at least let me know what its about, by all means, go right ahead.

Apologies for taking so long to reply.

It is a big head-cannon thing. i will put all my head-cannon in a PDF text, using both images and text to world-build the FiM world. Ex: i will explain how i think that the royal guard works, how they fight, how they train, this sort of thing.

For example i would use this one to illustrate the normal weapons that an Alicorn uses.

By all means, go right ahead. I'm actually lazily working on a series of images on how she summons Skoll to her. Though I doubt it will be released any time soon.

Isn't it ironic that the sun goddess wields a hammer called the Sun-Ender?

Read the little story to see why. If you know a bit about Nordic mythology: Skol, being the dog that chases the sun was to end its existence by eating it if it eventually caught it.

In this little twist, Celestia kicked the crap out of Skol, thus infusing its essence in the hammer. Although the hammer is obedient to her and her only, its still essentially the sun-ender itself.

I think the greater irony is that it sits on the sun when its not needed. The thing that the wolf wanted to get to most is now his prison!

I did, in fact, read the little story before even making that comment. Also, my statement was somewhat rhetorical.
